Hi, everybody. Andy here with etrailer.com. Let's take a real quick look at this TRIMAX coupler latch lock. Now, this coupler latch lock is designed for the regular trigger latches and thicker latches. So, this is gonna give you security that's going to keep your gear right where it belongs. This will fit coupler latches up to 2 1/2 inches, and these locks feature an advanced locking cylinder.
So typically, these are gonna be harder to pick and drill than standard locks. And as you notice, two tube keys are included and again, they're gonna be most of the time more challenging to duplicate. So, I'm just gonna stick one of these keys in and give it a quarter of a turn. That's going to allow me to unlock it. And I do have a coupler here just to kind of give you an idea of how this is gonna work.
Typically, on something like this though, I would probably want to get a lock that's shorter to allow less room for someone to try to cut that. But that's kind of gonna give you the idea of how this is going to operate if you didn't happen to know that. But it's gonna be very easy to lock and unlock. You're not gonna be in the back of your vehicle struggling to get this to work. And so, to lock that head back on, you'll just turn that key back the other way a quarter of a turn.
That rubber cap fits really tight, which is good. So, that's gonna make this weather resistant to keep the dirt and moisture out of that keyway. So, you're gonna be able to use this in all seasons. This is built tough, (lock bangs on table) crafted from forge chrome plated hardened steel to resist rust and stand up to tough conditions. So again, this is gonna work with your trigger latch style or lever latch style ball couplers.
Lemme give you some measurements in case you we inchesre interested. The overall length, we're sitting right at about 5 1/2 inches, just end to end, a rough measurement. Looking at the inside pin length or the span, again, 2 1/2 inches. That pin diameter is a quarter of an inch. And if you decide that this is going to be exactly what you need, we would love to hear back from you whether you drop a review on this product page, shoot us an email, give us a phone call, let us know how the lock is working out for you. We would also love to see the photos of your setup, as well, to see how you're using this to protect your investment. Well, that's gonna wrap up our quick look today. I do hope that it was helpful for you. Again, my name is Andy. Thank you for joining me.
Fits and works
I like the size of this lock. It's a great size and this style lock is the only style that works for my hitch. I just wish I could find one that didn't feel so loose.
Well made lo k
